Stacy Haynes
Stacy Haynes is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at Mississippi State University. She has a B.A. in psychology and sociology from Western Kentucky University and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Crime, Law, and Justice from Pennsylvania State University. Her research focuses on issues related to corrections, sentencing, victimization, juvenile justice, and criminal justice policy. Specifically, Dr. Haynes has examined victims’ and offenders’ experiences in the criminal justice system, particularly with regard to restitution, and the role of court and community contexts on sentencing. Her current research focuses on correctional staff and on the relationship between monetary sanctions and recidivism. Her work has appeared in a variety of journals, including Crime & Delinquency, Criminal Justice and Behavior, Criminal Justice Review, Criminology & Public Policy, Journal of Criminal Justice, and Violence and Victims.
