Stacy Haynes

Dr. Stacy Haynes is a Professor in the Department of Sociology at Mississippi State University (MSU).  She joined the faculty at MSU in 2008 after receiving her PhD from the Department of Sociology and Crime, Law, and Justice at Pennsylvania State University.  Her research focuses on issues related to sentencing and corrections, juvenile justice, victimization, and criminal justice policy.  Most recently, Dr. Haynes’s work has examined the experiences of correctional staff and incarcerated people in Mississippi.  Her previous work examined offenders’ and victims’ experiences in the criminal justice system, particularly with regard to economic sanctions, and the effects of contextual factors on sentencing outcomes.
